So simple. So doable.
Lightweight knit coat by Three Dots. A good weight for this time of year in California. Smart looking and a very affordable price.
Sort of gray, sort of purple, sort of brown. Sophisticated with a touch of earthy.
Starting this fall, we will be carrying a fantastic new line, 1961 denim. A favorite of Courtney Cox, Halle Berry, January Jones, Blake Lively, and countless other celebs, these denim masters launched with the lofty goal of making “the perfect pair of jeans.” Dare we say they succeeded?

Look out for these styles at Leaf and Petal and Cassis!

Love the black worn with touches of color, color matched only in intensity.

We love these earth toned J Brand skinnies!

This White and Warren wrap is the perfect day to cozy up in on a chilly fall day.

The mocha colored Bobby coat by Judith and Charles is equal parts comfortable and chic… a winter must have.
A petite diary of life with Leaf and Petal and the incredible market that takes place just outside our doors every Sunday...

Luscious, quirky, gorgeous bell pepper that was latter split in half: one half to be tossed into a fresh summer salad, the other half to be enjoyed like an apple.

Delicate squash blossoms that were later stuffed with feta and mint, breaded, then lightly fried in olive oil.

Elegant silk blouse that was later paired with the black J Brand skinnies that just came in for fall, creating a nice polished look for an evening in the city.

Blooming beauties that later filled all the spare ball jars and vases in the house, brightening every corner.

Fantastic, floral, and dare we say foxy dress that was later paired with shimmering Donald J. Pliner sandals from Leaf and Petal and a thin gauzy wrap for an anniversary dinner with our love.

Succulent berries that were later folded into Tahitian vanilla ice cream along with chopped dates and a dash of cinnamon.

Striking print on an Aaron Ashe skirt that we donned later with a simple white silk Joie blouse and Cordani heels for a working lunch.
We would love to see you next week after your trip to the market!
Many of you know our beautiful and talented Chloe… she has a tremendous eye and an amazing memory not only for every piece we carry, but also for all of our customer’s preferences… this post, however, is about her own preferences! Check out the photos below to glimpse a few of Chloe’s fall favorites.

I wore a sundress today in gorgeous balmy Palo Alto, and I’m hoping I’ll be able to for some time to come. When it does get a bit cooler though, I would like to incorporate some of the breezy fabrics and bright hues I’ve been sporting all summer long into my fall wardrobe. Here are a few ideas for still showing off those delicate summer tanks, lightweight knits, and white or bright denim as temperatures drop.

For long summer days: white denim by Hudson, blush lace blouse by Joie, Feldie wedge by Donald J.Pliner, rosary necklace by Chan Luu.

Come fall, slip this blush Joie blouse under one of your lightweight summer knits like this rose cardigan, and then throw on this lovely trench by Le Phare de la Baleine. The blush silk will be such a welcome spot of color, texture, and femininity during a chilly fall. You can still sport those white jeans, but perhaps pair them with these Frye riding boots for a pulled together look.

This little lady has the right idea!
Now what to do with that bright denim?

From left to right: Rich and Skinny, J Brand, and Joe’s Jeans
Tucked into your Frye riding boots, these vibrant hues will carry over into fall beautifully. Cozy up in a neutral pullover or layer one of your summer knits over a long sleeve tee, glitz with a bit of eye catching jewelry, and you are all set.

Frye boots shown here with Papillon Blanc cream cardigan, Rich and Skinny jeans, and Joie grey sweater.

These ladies sure know how to warm up even the chilliest of days…
Over here at Leaf and Petal, we are hoping these cloudy skies have left for now, so we can host a dreamy fête amongst summer blooms.
Here are a few of our inspiration shots..

What to wear to a garden party? Well, we are feeling awfully inspired by these ladies donning all Johnny Was

but should this gypsy look prove to be a bit much for us to carry, we will wear this Johnny Was Reedy Dolman top from Leaf and Petal
